I have been with the Bank of Ireland for years, but their customer services has now gone beyond a joke and with limited branches Im struggling to find anything possitive to say about them.
I dont need anything fancy (we dont earn that much), I want a current account to have our wages paid in and our bils paid out....sounds simple?...the Bank of Ireland seem to be struggling....
Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple to understand, reliable Bank
Thank you in advance

If you're looking at the NW flex account as being the basic cash card account it doesn't exist anymore to new clients. You now have to have the credit search for the debit card and cheque book.0 -

The website still shows:
What's on offer
Basic account
If you want access to a simple account offering a range of features and benefits, the basic current account is for you. You can:
-Pay money in and set up regular payments like standing orders and Direct Debits – both in and out.
-A cashcard which enables you to withdraw money and check your balance at any of our branches, cash machines and any Post Office counter.
-Manage your money on the internet.
-The basic bank account does not offer an overdraft, a cheque book or a debit or credit card.
P.S. The today's post in THIS thread proves that the above information posted by Turning_into_scrooge is incorrect!0 -
We went into the local nationwide branch to open up the basic flex account (cash card account) for my son only to be told that they stopped doing this account back in I think it was the end of March. They only now do credit search accounts.
HTH
EDit... Thankyou for your comment. If i am incorrect then my bank don't know their job, i can only say wht i was told by an employee of NW, face to face. Also i was talking about the
basic cash card account not current account.0
