Can you stay with the same provider when using a comparison site if a better deal is found?
I'm with Scottish Power and my current deal expires soon. They have offered Super Saver April 2021 B3 as my new deal. On searching on Cheap Energy Club I found one of the best deals was Super Saver April 2021 B4 from Scottish Power. This works out £24 per month cheaper and £25 cashback!
So my query is can I use the comparison site to change to this tarriff although it is with the same supplier?

Yes. We have just done this with British Gas.
You need to check the rate per kWh and the standing charge prices against your current tariff though. Don't rely on the price per month!!1 -
Not if you are with Eon and their deal is only through the comparison site.2
-
As above it varies from deal to deal and suppliers T&C .Cheaper based upon what ?? prices or an estimated direct debit per month .2

I have changed tariff and stayed with EDF by doing the "switch" through a comparison website and also got cashback.
EDF actually advised of the cheaper tariff on a bill, but when I called they said it was only available via switching sites, they could not switch me directly but it all went through via the comparison site.2 -
I have done this via the CEC when I was with nPower. Why should you not get cash back? The supplier pays the comparison site, which pays you... Or not as with Eon (whom I cannot wait to leave for myriad reasons) Go for it.1

Type your comments I,
hi, I am a long standing customer with SP, and tariffs is up end of April.
had a hell of a game with them last year trying to switch away, so much so, it was easier staying with a better deal.
took months to sort out. Too long for on here.
they don, t like you moving, and make it very difficult.
Very!!
the online tariff insists you have a smart meter ! Mandatory!
i don’t want one. Even though I would save approx £300,
just my choice.
therein lies the sting !
a sprat to catch a mackerel
my new tariff , if I don’t switch is a lot dearer than my existing one, but, only insist I am interested in a smart meter, same as I am on now.

Just double checked the online tariff with Uswitch.
april 2021b4
the unit costs and standing charges are both cheaper than my existing tariff ?
i would save £334 by switching back to SP via uswitch.
very tempting innit🤑
are they so keen to get us on to a meter to give such a good deal to online sites only?
why don,t they put this on their own site as an option, and let the loyal customer make the choice , instead of switching like the chuckle brothers, from me to you?

You probably wouldn't get the cashback though, as the terms and conditions generally apply to new customers only. You'd have to check the small print on that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
