    What is GPH?
Buy a diesel if your doing long trips or more than 13K miles a year.  Buy the petrol if your trips are mainly short ones.

Why do you say that? Is asking for opinions wrong?
We have 3 cars in the household and this is to replace the 07 plate polo 1.4tdi that we are looking to replace. We always bought VW's but recently drove a fiesta as a loan car and really liked it.

Is petrol better at what?  If your starting a bonfire then yes petrol is way better.

Dont run your diesel heater on petrol though thats an accident waiting to happen.
