Buy a diesel if your doing long trips or more than 13K miles a year. Buy the petrol if your trips are mainly short ones.1 -

Is petrol better at what? If your starting a bonfire then yes petrol is way better.
Dont run your diesel heater on petrol though thats an accident waiting to happen.
