Where were you travelling to? If the FCO have advised against travel to that place, then yes you can claim.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) declaring either of the following:
– Your compulsory quarantine preventing you from travelling
– Your destination is unsafe to visit and they advise against all or all but essential travel; or
Did you book via the Hotel directly or via an agent? We had a holiday booked to China via Expedia with non-refundable hotel but they still refunded in this scenario due to CV.

You may have to claim on your travel insurance policy for the hotel.0

That's what they are trying to do, but can't get through to the insurer.jonesMUFCforever said:You may have to claim on your travel insurance policy for the hotel.

The FCO hasn’t advised against travel to Italy, only a few places in Lombardy and Veneto but close to where we are staying (Malcesine). Thank you for your advice though, I will try calling Sainsbury’s again today, they’re probably overwhelmed with CV and now FLYBE claims 🤞FutureGirl said:Where were you travelling to? Sadly we're cancelling our flights to a CV affected country but not on FCO list, we won't get refunds which is understandable but better that, than stuck in quarantine in a foreign country and no way of getting home or worse getting it. We also have Sainsbury travel insurance.
Hope your covered OP"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

We are due to fly out on 3rd April to Thailand for our honeymoon. We will still go unless FCO changes the status to all but essential travel. However, I've read online that Thailand is looking to quarantine anyone arriving from badly affected countries (S. Korea, Italy, China etc.) for 14 days on arrival. This would pretty much take up our entire time there so to me that would be pointless in us travelling. Any grounds here to claim from insurance if the UK was to be one of those countries added to Thailand's list? I know it's all if's, but would like some idea.
P.S. With insure and go and trying to get through to customer service to get an answer which is hard work!0 -

I doubt that would be covered as they are not on the FCO no travel list, the procedures of the individual country for quarantine is theirs alone and nothing to do with the insurers sadly.andyhansen77 said:We are due to fly out on 3rd April to Thailand for our honeymoon.
