When should Travel insurance start if taking annual multi-trip policy

Hi
I just want to understand when should the travel insurance start? If I purchased today but was not travelling until end of March, what should be the start date of the policy?
This is so that I am covered incase the Coronavirus does cause my travel to be cancelled/delayed etc.
