Applying for a credit card without 3 years address history

I moved within the UK about 9 months ago and just gave them my previous UKaddress when they were asking for it. No place I've dealt with actually asks for the length of time at previous address. If any of those places do paper applications that might work with a non UK addressCartoonhead said:
So how did you apply for them without having the address history if you don't mind me asking?afis1904 said:I've not been here for three years and I got two credit cards (Capital one and Aqua) without any issues
Capital one is one of the cards I tried but they insisted on a previous address0 -
Is worse case not more along the lines of ending up in court on a fraud charge ?born_again said:DO NOT LIE.....
It will come back and bite you. Worst case a CIFAS marker and a totally wrecked credit status.0 -

If the companies are not asking specifically for UK addresses, why can't she try the foreign addresses? N/A for postcode if not exist. At least in this way she's not lying about anything so no repercussions.0

i don't think they should give her a CC.
If she cannot meet the requirements then they must refuse.
If you and her break up she could spend to the max limit and do a runner back to the USA and a uk bank will be in detriment.
If she needs a credit card get her one issued from your card as an additional user till she can qualify on her own

Does she need a credit card?
You could put her on your bills (gas, electric, water, tv & internet) as they report to the credit agencies and she will build a credit history that way.0
