'Hive Active Heating' thermostat (etc) offers

Last year I was mulling over the idea of getting a smart thermostat, and set up a couple of price alerts using (the most wonderful) Camelcamelcamel. Along came Black Friday, and some decent reductions on Hive and Google Nest heating kits. Although the price was historically very good (e.g. Hive kit £150 including installation), I agonised over whether I could justify it, and having had another big (and unexpected) bill at the time, decided the answer was no, as the benefits would probably be marginal (I'm already careful with the heating - pure MSE, me  ).
Fast forward to chilly February, when we found ourselves without hot water on several occasions, and it seems our boiler programmer has gone on the blink. To cut a long story short, it looks likely that our ancient programmer/timeswitch is the culprit. Looking at how much it would cost to replace it with a half-decent conventional alternative, I may as well go down the smart route now, but of course the current prices are nowhere near as good as the Black Friday deals, and just in the time it has taken me to look into this, our preferred option has gone up another 15 quid! Maddening. So what I'm wondering is - does anyone know if (a) there are any good discounts on the go at the moment that would beat the official Hive Home prices, or (b) if there are any particular times of the year (apart from Black Friday!) when discounts are likely to occur?
(Incidentally - yes, I'm aware that Google Nest thermostat is a bit fancier and can learn patterns etc, but I don't really want that and Hive is cheaper and covers what we're after.)

Amazon usually beats the Hive shop by a small amount.

Thanks - yes, their price has just dropped a little so it's cheaper than hivehome.com, but still nowhere near as much of a bargain as before... oh well, it was a good lesson in 'you snooze, you lose'!
