We are getting worse at getting up, it was 8.30 before OH woke........I was awake but still dozy, if you know what I mean. Have just had a shower and got dressed.
Grey clouds scudding over this morning, we may get a shower but no heavy rain.
OH has made a decision this morning, he is not going to Evergreen every other Monday for the time being, no point in asking for trouble. We will go to the coffee morning at the little chapel tomorrow...but depending on what happens they may be cancelled for a while. A majority of those who attend are over 60+ so no point asking for trouble.
I need to apply myself to the ironing, still have a kingsize sheet and duvet cover to do. Also need to use the baby Dyson on the kitchen floor, clear up the crumbs and bits etc that always seem to collect.
I made a pot of lentil soup at the weekend, so the last of that at lunchtime with bread. Supper tonight egg, chips and peas. The last of the plum crumble for dessert.12 -
Morning everyone. Lovely day here today, a sharp frost but it is bright so I shall definitely venture into the garden later to cut the lawn and general tidy up. Just got a few bits for ironing but then I'll brave the chill. The new blind arrived yesterday but will have to wait till OH has time. He is off this weekend so Saturday looks promising. There is no good trying to do it before he goes to work as something usually needs adjusting or something and it takes longer. That's the thing with old houses I suppose nothing is level, straight or the same size at top and bottom. I agree, there are some inspirational people on here and in life in general. We don't always get to see the good side of humanity through media or sometimes in real life but I've seen enough to know that there is goodness and kindness and inspirational individuals that make a difference every single day.
Thinking of RR today. Hugs to all those that need it.
Have a good one.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh11 -
Afternoon all! Could not sleep last night even though I was knackered, but shed building plans were going round in my head. Now that I've successfully completed some gardening, I feel a bit more get uppy...I did tell OH this morning that it didn't look that difficult and I think I mght build one and he laughed at me, so, the 'well-I'll-show-you! kicked in so I feel about to start a mission.....Nelski, come round and hold the nails for me....We can nail him to the side of it when it's finishedToday no plans, it's a friends birthday but we're meeting for curry on Friday so I'll wait till then to give presents. I think I'll go and lay out my second raised bed, but the path needs digging up [ need a jackhammer to get rid of it and I'm not prepared to use one of those just yet....]Nanny, hope the appointment went OK. Nelski, you know those boards that people make for gold stars etc, why not make one with all the stuff you've achieved? It may sound like nothing when you're in the doomy gloom place, but when you're not, it may help keeping spirits up slightly longer...Or just make it a mission to reread all the nice things people say to you here
You rock like granite! Ruby, hope it goes well today, it's kind of a no brainer really once you've got over the hideous choice being forced on you. Strength! Bellla, that made me laugh...Happy, good to see you didn't seize up...Hey all reading along...Tinkerbell Tuesday!

Then I have to go back in 1 month probably to check I'm compos mentis ........ good luck with that
. Apparently my thyroid levels are up and down like the buses too, so I have to have more bloods in 6-8 weeks.
Met 2 friends in the waiting room so we had a quick catch up and then bumped into the DGC on their way to school. They brightened my day !DGS completed a sponsored swim for his club too, he and his friend swam 3,700m in an hour. I can't swim in the bath so I'm one super proud nanNelski I believe Hester's DH has mood swings after his stroke too. I hope you don't change too much, 'cos I love you just the way you areRedRuby I'm thinking of you today. I don't think I could have made that decision, it couldn't have been easy for you. The result of the work today. All the laminate lifted and stacked, along with the underlay. The builder has opened up part of the floor so far. Again, he's on his own so progress is not as fast as it could be, however I'm not complaining. He's also brought up lots of bags of what looks like gravel to put back into the joists later once the work is done and a pile of noise and dust making equipment for later on. Tomorrow he'll put braces in the flat downstairs to support it's ceiling as he'll be digging out the stuff up here. He'll also be opening up a lot more of the flooring! Think his missing mate will be back too.In other news I 'won' a victory in a small battle with nPower today which made me very happy. They sent out an email inviting me to sign up to a new tariff as mine was coming to an end. When I tried to do that I was told that I have to have a smart meter fitted or go onto a different and more expensive tariff. I'm not going to have a smart meter installed.(no signal etc). Anyway, the T&Cs only say that I have to agree to 'receive communications regarding smart meters' not that I have to have one so the poor agent had to concede! Win....NAN - sorry to read about your thryroid levels, I hope that they stabilise soon.RUBY - my thoughts were with you this afternoon!
