O/S Daily Tuesday 3 March 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light but frosty start to the day here.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I've had a bath and I'm dressed, meds taken - will be hobbling into work again, have to just keep plodding on but will go back to the GP's if I'm not improved at the back end of next week. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, chips and beans for the menfolk, I had fish and veg. Tonight will be egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and beans.
Yesterday work was quite busy - we'll see what today brings.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, sounds like you're doing all you can to ease your back.
Work was really busy yesterday and the day flew by, hoping for more of the same today. I had a lovely walk with DD and the baby after work, just what I needed but realised I've lost some fitness with this chest infection, must try harder, the hill on the way back to DDs was tough going!
RR - For what it's worth I would make the same decision, will be thinking of you today.
Gers - Hope the builders get going or you'll be in a guddle for a while.
Right, off to face the day, take care. XX15 -
Good morning all.Think today will be more of the builder lifting the laminate. He'll have to number each piece so it can go back properly (if it can) so perhaps the noise and mess will start tomorrow. The hall is swathed in plastic and there's some kind of protective sheeting on the floor.I hope that everyone has a lovely day. Happy Tuesday to all.14

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Will it ever end - another light covering of snow overnight! I really am sick of winter now.
Goody it's Tuesday so usual meet up with oldest buddy for coffees, lunch and generally putting the world to rights. So a no cooking day for me. The coffee shop is still hanging in there but staff say it's set to close first week of April. We'll have the usual wander of the shops afterwards. I am hopeful of spotting an iron in one of the sales that are forever on these days. It's annoying as my iron still works fine but the little flap that lifts to put water in has snapped off and the water can leak out if I am not careful. I can't remember how long I have had it so I have definitely had my money's worth from it!
Have a good day folks if you can. Thinking of REDRUBY with her appointment. GERS I hope the sackless chap's mate has made a speedy recovery and is back with him today. ((HUGS)) for all else in need of them ((HUGS)) and take care all xx

Morning
Rubes i feel we will all be virtually with you today for your appointment. Hopefully once the decision is out in the open some relief will come along too for you and you can get on with the next stage. Big love xxx
Gers may all your visiting builders be OCD and leave your home clean and tidy....I know I know but its worth hoping eh
Was very pleased with my little trip out yesterday but had a real mood dump in the evening thinking how I had ever got so elated about something so pathetic. I know its part of the problem but the mood swings are hellish. Poor night sleep didn't help but this morning I am semi back to positive. Terrorist coming today so at least he will wear me outCamelot I noticed my CV fitness was way down yesterday too needs quite a bit of work
Made some coquilles st jacques last night but really couldn't be bothered eating so they are in the freezer now. Plan is to make some corned beef pasties today like my favourite Greggs savoury. Will have that with beans ...proper comfort food needed
Have a good day all

Morning all
Very sharp frost here this morning and its very cold we will have to scrape the cars off this morning.
Again thank you all for your support, the way I see it I didn't really have a lot of choice, one boob had to come off anyway it was too full of pre-cancerous cells that they could not save it, the other one I could have had a lumpectomy on but I would have only had one boob which would be mis-shaped and there would always be the threat of the cancer returning and it not being spotted, I am almost sure the remaining one would have to come off at some point so I may as well get it all over with, also this way if I decide I want a reconstruction I can have a nice pert pair which I have not had for a while
Leaving here at 8.30 so will have a bite to eat first then get ready, not sure about dinner tonight might be something like a casserole as its so cold.
Nels well done on conquering Asda, thats a huge step xx
Gers hope it all goes well xx
Have good days all xx

Good morning, bitterly cold here with a hard frost but the sun's shining.Ruby, you're doing the right thing - as you say, you didn't have much choice. I'll be thinking about you today. It's the usual Tuesday ahead for me, I've had a rubbish night, but will have to keep going. Strong coffee helps a lot!!Take care folks, hope everyone has as good a day as they can.15

Good morning
Bright and frosty today. A big improvement over endless rain.
I know I'm new here but please may I say that this thread is full of the most amazing peop!e who are such an inspiration.
I hesitate to name anyone, for fear of missing out others but I'm sure you know who you are - tho actually you're all so modest you will think I don't mean you. But thank you all.
I actually made it to yoga yesterday, and managed more than I thought I would be able to. Also managed coffee and cake with my friend at the nearby garden centre afterwards!
Today it's routine asthma check at the GP first thing then a wander to the outlet to see if Marks have any bargains. DD here for tea so that will be a treat.
nmlc - you're doing well to keep going with your bad back. Perhaps see the GP sooner rather than later?
Gers - I fear this job will be a " Don't hold your breath" affair. They don't seem to have a rush in them!
Nelski - the trip IS a massive achievement. It's a huge mental leap to do that on your own.
Red Ruby - I do wish I could say something that isn't trite, but everything seems to turn into a cliche. I will be thinking of you all the way.
Happy sunny Tuesday all

Nels your doing great i wonder if the terrorist will give you a new dance to learn today

Morning all,...and it rained again.... it was so nice to have a dry day yesterday, feels a bit warmer though.Yesterday I moved some of the logs from the outside store to baskets inside which kept me busy for a while, then I defrosted my small upright freezer which had got so bad I could barely shut the drawer. It took absolutely ages as the top was just solid.Still hadnt thawed by tea time & I was starting to panic a bit as some things like the DGC ice lollies melted. DS took over chipping away while I fed everyone, including an unexpected late arrival DGD who couldn't decide whether she wanted to eat here or at home - here in the end.Still it was nice to see her.No plans to go out today so I think I'll tackle our bedroom which has become a bit of a dumping ground.Thinking of you today Ruby, and hope everyone has the best day they can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
