Delay repay or not?

Yesterday King's Cross was closed so my journey from Bradford to London was made via Leeds and Birmingham into Euston. I booked via trainsplit and had five tickets to cover my journey.
There was no problem on my journey from Bradford to Leeds, but the journey from Leeds to Birmingham was delayed and I missed my connection to Euston. Fortunately the next train was only a 20 minutes away, and consequently I arrived into Euston around 20 minutes late.
Here's the deal. Crosscountry, which runs the train from Leeds to Birmingham, pays delay repay on delays of 30 minutes or more. Avanti, which runs the train from Birmingham to London, pays out on delays of 15 minutes or more. I was more than 15 minutes late to my final destination, but the delay was caused by an operator that only pays out on 30 minutes.
Can I claim Delay Repay in this circumstance or not?

Sounds like a No. The delay was caused by Cross-Country so you claim from them and they say no. You could only claim form Avanti if their service was also delayed. Whether you can claim anything for the King's Cross closure - I don't know. Was that due to Railtrack? Or due to any company you had a ticket from? Yorkie2 will probably know better.I need to think of something new here...2

No... Avanti wasn't delayed. The delay was caused by CrossCountry. So, as I expected, there's no prospect of a claim. Appreciate the confirmation! Thanks.#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

The value of the claim would be based on the face value of the combined cost of all tickets used for the journey.NBLondon said:Whether you can claim anything for the King's Cross closure - I don't know.
