So people self Isolate 'somewhere else' (hospital/hotel/friend/relative) someone pays for property to be deep cleaned and someone pays for other people to move 'stuff' , it would cost a bit more but can still be managed. The fact is it's still highly unlikely. Alternative is delay everything by a month with agreement of whole chain, plus deep cleaning where needed !
In my 'former life as a midwife' People used to be admitted to hospital or give birth during moving house, yes they got stressed and made a few phone calls but life went on without them !Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
I an no legal eagle but from what I remember, “force majeure” has no meaning under English law.Any protection or get-outs are only afforded only if the applicable circumstances are clearly specified in a written contract, there isn't anything implied.original_subliminal said:I’m not to clear on legal obligations in case of a force majeur event1

I bet more people break a leg the week before moving, or have a heart attack on the morning, than would catch this virus at an important time.2

Two weeks on,and maybe about to exchange, and I come within the government at risk criteria. As far as I know (because our solicitor has no idea) force majeure would not apply, do you all still think the (long) chain ought to ignore the consequences of not completing after exchange ?? Some of you might think I'm having a laugh, do you think no-one might be eyeing up the potential 10% deposits ?0
