O/S Daily Monday 2 March 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Still dark, less blustery and appears to be dry underfoot at the moment.
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I've had a bath and am now dressed, enjoying my cuppa and my porridge, meds duly taken. Feeling slightly more comfortable at the moment. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, mash, roasties, carrots, peas, yorkshires and gravy - DS1 was a star and did the veg, I had a some ready made roast potatoes in the freezer so we used them, and it was a perfectly acceptable lunch. Tonight will be fish, chips and beans for the menfolk, I'll have fish and veg.
Back to work today we'll see what it brings, its near the start of the month so may be busier than it has been.
Keep safe and well x

It is lovely to see the mornings getting so much lighter now 6.30 and its as good as daylight. Big goal for me today ...even bigger than bin visitsPlan to ....drum roll.....go out!! The Rx I ordered last week came with a missing item so rather than nag my friend I am going myself. It wont be too stressful as I will grab a taxi then push a trolley round Asda then home in a cab ....hardly an expedition up Everest but a big goal to me right now. May have a coffee in the cafe and a wander round George too
Enjoyed a big roast last night and tonight its a newish one for me....coquilles st Jacques with spinach and leeks.....oooo errr posh eh!! bear in mind I have time on my hands atm to do some of the recipes I watch so much
Hope you all have a good day and can keep smiling at the very least17 -
Morning All
Yesterday's snow didn't come to anything but we had plenty of rain although the afternoon saw some sunshine.
Lots of little jobs done yesterday which I'm quite pleased about. When I was at DS1s at the weekend DGD asked me to sew some badges on her Brownie blanket, I've done 7, just another 21 to go!
Pleased to hear you're feeling better this morning nmlc.
Hope the works aren't too intrusive Gers.
Still missing Specky and tru, hope you're OK.
Have a happy Monday, take care. XX17 -

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Pleased there is some improvement with your back. And NELSKI a Grand Day Out planned! I hope you enjoy your excursion to Asda and all goes well. REDRUBY is it today you go back to the Consultant with your decision? Thinking of you x
I thought I had slept in this morning it was light so early - no such luck! The blinds are getting opened earlier and earlier which gives us hope Spring is finally nearly here! But it's a blooming cold start with a thick frost everywhere.
The hairdresser is coming at noon which kind of interferes with the day a bit, so no plans for before or after her visit other than the usual jobs. Sachet of hm Leek & Potato soup and a bagel out defrosting for lunch and a nice piece of smoked haddock for tonight.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need, especially RR. Take care all xx ps thinking of GERS too living with that upheaval."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"17 -
Good morning, and thanks for starting Nelski, I hope your trip to A8da goes well - it will be good for you to get out for a while.Nmlc, glad your back is not quite as bad. It's frosty here, but that high wind seems to have dropped, We were busy in the back bedroom yesterday, DH painting, and I took the carpet tiles outside and scrubbed them. We've got carpet tiles in there for various boring reasons, and they are easy to wash. I'm visiting a friend this morning then going to the Book Club. By then it'll be lunchtime and I'll be heading home. Dgd is not coming for her tea today, so we'll crack on in the bedroom. That's my fairly boring day. If you are reading Speky, hope you're ok, and others who have gone missing. Hope everyone has a good Monday, take care folks16

Good morning
Another sunny day. Two in a row!
Yesterday went off peacefully here so hoping for the same today. I'm definitely going to yoga today. Have missed three weeks for various reasons so will completely seize up if I don't go soon. I do try to do some at home but it's not the same somehow.
NMLC - glad your back is improving. It can be so painful.
Nelski - I'm full of admiration. You're making such great progress
Gers - busy days ahead. Let's hope all goes as smoothly as possible
Happy Monday everyone - hopefully a bendy yoga one for me14 -
Good morning and thank you for starting off Nelski. Enjoy your trip to Asd* .
Good to hear your back is a bit more comfortable nmlc.
Thinking of you RedRuby.
I managed to log in after 3 failed attempts and couldn't get in at all yesterday.
Lovely sunshine here though it is cold and frosty.
I cooked chicken in wine, garlic, parsley last night, roast potatoes, kale and other veg, nice though I wasn't hungry so just had a taste.
Hope everyone has a good day
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back15 -

Sunny but very cold here this morning. Rubbish nights sleep, feel like something the cay brought in and forgot!!
Laundry to do, might even hang it out, just fingers crossed the line does not break.
Gers, RR. Nelski......hope all goes well with you today. Thoughts especially with RR just now.
Chicken left from last night for supper, no idea what with, gradually using down the emergency store, freezer is emptying so need to give it a wipe out before I fill it again and start to build up the stores.
Concerned about the coronavirus, as far as I know there are no local cases, but need to think about precautions. It could be fatal if either of us contract it. the is no point in thinking 'it won't happen to us'. It so easily could.14 -
Morning all
Sunny here atm but more rain due later everything is so wet atm !! DD has the morning off so she will walk the pup.
My appointment is tomorrow morning but thank you, I have decided to go for the double mastectomy If I went for mastectomy on one side only I would be forever worried about it returning, I will think about having a reconstruction later on I have a while yet to decide that so no rush, its been a hard decision to make and I am worried about what I will look like afterwards but I dont really have a choice I would rather be alive than dead with boobs !
Nels well done that lady !! I am very proud of you, take it steady and enjoy your time out xx
Rest of the roast chicken tonight its all done so will just have to heat it up, I have a wash to put on this morning and will have a tidy through, nana nap this afternoon and try and find a new series on netflix.
Have good days all xx15
