How can I tell what size this Audi Wheel is?

Hi all

I need to buy a replacement wheel for my Audi Q7. So, I looked on EBay and there are lots of different sizes on there. I took a picture of the tyre and it says 285/40 R 21 Y XL. Please can somebody tell me which size Rim I need to buy to match the other 3 wheels on the car (which all have the same tyres on).
Thanks all.

Well you're looking at a 21" wheel so look for the style that matches that size and the ones already on your car. You can find out the exact wheel size by looking on the inside of the alloy if you can see it.

    its either 9.5 x 21 or 10.5 x 21

If you remove the alloy the inside will have the measurments.

Have a look here for your exact model year and wheel style - http://www.oemepc.com/audi/lang/e

As it's a slow puncture buy a tyre inflator to get you to the garage - https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8677332
Also handy to keep in the boot for future use. Used ours a week ago when I had a nail in my tyre - darned sight easier than lugging my spare out of the boot and changing wheels.

I think you’re over complicating this ( unless you want to carry a spare at all times) jack the car take the wheel off get a friend or taxi to take you to tyre place or call tyre place and ask their mobile fitter to come to the car.
  • MX5huggy. I think they damaged the wheel from the way they are asking.

This is what you need to do as they may have wider alloys on the back but the same diameter.

You can buy a spacesaver spare wheel kit (wheel, jack & brace ) from ebay, or a breakers. For an emergency, like the sidewall rips out of a tyre and the "repair kit" won't work, or you don't want to scrap a tyre that only needs a patch by filling it with gunk, they will get you out of trouble.
They aren't my favourite things, but if you have different wheels front & back, you aren't going to buy two proper spare wheels and carry both around.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I do not think the OP wants a spare wheel, they just want to replace the one that has been damaged.....waiting for the OP to come back.
  • Sorry guys. What I should of said is the car was on my drive facing uphill. There’s no jack in the boot but even if there was the car was facing uphill on the drive so it wasn’t safe to side jack it even if there was one.
