This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning folks.

Good morning folks and thanks GERS for the new daily. Happy St David's day for our Welsh contingent.
I suppose it was much the same for everyone else but I just couldn't get to sleep last night with this howling wind. I kept hearing a series of loud bumps and bangs at one point but of course it was too dark to see anything. We haven't had a lot of heavy rain thankfully, nor is any forecast for us today. There are even pockets of blue sky! Small mercies and all that!
A lazy Sunday on the agenda for me but, before I go into sloth mode, I have promised myself I will clean the oven and the dw filter. I also religiously wash the filters on the GTechs at the start of every month so they are on the list too.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, carers, sad and worried amongst us. Thinking of REDRUBY and family especially. Take care all xx

I too was kept awake by howling wind and pouring rain - still the same this morning. Im working today and there are no buses to get me there in time as it's Sunday - it's got an hour to ease off or I'll get soaked
well I need to get moving - hope everyone has a good day

Morning All
It's snowing! Very heavy at the moment but it's so wet out I very much doubt it will stick. On my way back from DS1s yesterday there was rain, hail, sleet and snow - not a very nice journey. At least there was sunshine when I was there.
I called at a charity shop I favour on the way to DS1s to drop off a couple of bags of stuff and of course bought a lovely little tea set, only £3 so won't break the bank. Had a lovely day with the DGC, they were on great form.
Nothing much planned for today apart from shopping for supplies if the snow stops and some much needed housework.
Hugs to those in need, take care. XX

Sloth mode fully active for me. 10 hrs sleep too so a really good reason to continue the pattern and lie on the couch watching catch up. Who doesn't love a Sunday
Chicken roast tonight with sprouts spinach and leeks my 3 fav veg Yorkshires roasts and gravy too so best move a bit as need to be hungry
Nothing planned but binging on cooking programmes and a film later
Enjoy your day and Happy St Davids day to nanny11 -
Whoo hoo! It's not raining. In fact, whisper it quietly, it's sunny. Still windy but not as violent as yesterday so, so in all, a big improvement. Well done, March!
Nothing much happening here, but that's fine.
Happy sunny Sunday everyone8 -
Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off x
Beautiful sunshine here, but very blustery and was quite noisy during the night too.
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH in the bath, I've just got out and now slowly moving - when I've been laying or sitting down takes a while to get moving again, but I've had some food and meds and have some warming back rub on - as I move about more it's getting easier but still feel like a crotchety old bird at the moment! Feel like I need to be stretched if that makes any sense. DS1 still in his pit, he'll be moving about in a while. DS2 settled and happy.
Yesterday DS1 took me shopping so we now have food for the week, we got a joint of pork out to defrost so we'll be having roast pork for lunch.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all.
Another one with a bit of a rubbish night and without the excuse of being kept up by Jorge (oo er missus). Steve and I seem to be on opposite sleeping patterns again - I can't get to sleep and he wakes mega early.
It looks like Brian has got the job, yippee! I was starting to worry about them, although Laura and I had made contingency plans that they could rent out the house and come to live with us if worse came to worse.
No other news, I am obsessing about a jigsaw I got, it's from the Bodleian library, a picture of old girl's own schoolgirl type books. I thought it would be easy but it's quite tricky as a lot of the books are repeated. I shall try to finish it today.9 -
Morning All,
Sitting in bed with a cup of tea. Just deciding as it is nice and sunny weather to hang out the washing (with the risk of it blowing away) or hang it on the electric clothes dryer ,
Not going anywhere today . Paperwork and housework are on the list.
Happy Sunday and welcome to March
