Yesterday my partner swapped a car with another private person. 24 hours later the other person isn’t happy with the swap and making threats for money due to the fact he said it needs a new tyre, he inspected the vehicle at the time of swap and he said he was happy to swap, where do we stand on this? We are due a baby any day and do not need this stress when I feel we have done nothing wrong, he could of checked vehicle tyres at point of swap and said no.

We don't know what the agreement was or the description of the vehicle, fortunately, I don't think you have anything to worry about, many of us have children, it's not the stress and bother that some claim attention for.

If you knew it needed a new tyre and you want the stress to go away, it might be worth offering a contribution towards a new tyre, say £30 - £50 or something like that.0

But if you do this, make sure you stress that it is a goodwill gesture and are not accepting responsibility !!!!!! , well sold as seen...chrisw said:If you knew it needed a new tyre and you want the stress to go away, it might be worth offering a contribution towards a new tyre, say £30 - £50 or something like that.0 -
There is no requirement for you to offer any form of compensation unless you mis-described the vehicle, it's a private sale. If you are being threatened, inform the police.
Presumably you still exchanged the correct paperwork, v5's. etc?No free lunch, and no free laptop
