Guys, just thought id share this with you all. Last night for the second time in 6 weeks, we lost our landline, AND the broadband this time. I was not impressed. I called BT and told them that we'd lost service, dialling tone and when you call our number it has "welcome to BT answer 1571"even though nobody is on the phone. They said that according to their records the line was fine (evidently not otherwise I wouldn't be calling would I?) and that the problem would probably be on my premises, and I should expect to be charged a callout fee and for the labour incurred. Grr. So, I agreed to an engineer coming out to me, and was told it would be sometime in the next 5 working days. Not acceptable I told them. Please hold for a minute I was asked. "how does tmrw morning between 8 and 12 sound?" Great I replied. the engineer came at 8am on the button and my line was back on within 20 mins. i was very impressed, and called them to say so. I was going to change my line rental to Sky as well as my calls, but after today I am staying with BT, they have won me over with excellent service. I know people slate them all the time, and they're by no means the cheapest provider, but you get what you pay for!

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

I'd still recommend you CPS your calls to save money on your calls (see the 'HERE' link in my signature below).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
