Ford Fiesta 2003 MECHANICS ADVICE NEEDED!

Hi.
I have a 1.3 2003 Ford Fiesta which is playing up.
A couple of days ago I began experiencing a loss of power, shuddering/lugging and loud motorbike like noises an the car almost stalled so I stopped an found the oil was low so put some in an got about a mile until it stalled going up a hill. Got it in the garage the next day an they fitted a new exhaust silencer which hasn’t fixed the problem of shuddering.
Today I fitted new spark plugs n air filter which has improved the drive a bit. Now the check engine light keeps flashing then going solid again. The car has a very noticeable lack of power and feels weird to drive.

Can anyone help me work out what is wrong an how to sort it as can’t afford to keep taking it to garage.

You need the codes reading which is about £35 plus vat.

is it still making loud motorbike noises?

I know someone with a code reader so I’ll get them to have a look.
And mostly no do get some if you rev the engine an sometimes when driving but the engine deffo doesn’t sound like it was

If you want people to be able to diagnose your problem, then you need to describe what is happening a little better.

I used to own this car/engine. Clean the throttle body with carb cleaner.

Change the coil packs.

Have you got the old plugs or did you notice one looking different to the rest?
