smart lighting

You can get standalone switches that either replace the front plate of a wall switch, or can be stuck to it. That switch then operates the smart switch remotely.
I'd recommend the Paul Hibbert Youtube channel to get started with reviews of different Home Automation techniques.

Hi all I have sorted this out with the help of scene's. It was really easy to sort out the neutral, as at one of the switches you only need live and neutral, so only need 2 wire which every switch has. This was easy to do and works really well also you can have as many switches operating the same light as you want. so no 2 way wiring needed1

Nice you've got something working. Could you elborate a bit more on what you achieved it with, as I'm struggling to understand it, and it might help others?

Hi yes using 2 smart switches to operate 1 light (2 way switching)0

So if i'm understanding this correctly you have two (1 way) standard smart switches and both need to be turned on for the light to operate because they are not wired as 2 way switches but actually wired in a series circuit. So when you use a voice command it turns both on to turn on the light and if you operate one switch manually then it will also turn on the other switch at the same time so the light turns on?.gingerbreadmen said:Hi yes using 2 smart switches to operate 1 light (2 way switching)
Also thinking about it you might just have one switch which actually turns the light on and off and the other switch could be a dummy switch which just receives power but when it's turned on or off this triggers the other switch to turn on and off which actually controls the light.
I've never thought about doing that before but it's a good way if you want to maintain two switches.

I have Two 1 way smart switches operating the same light but these are not wired in series at 1 switch there is a live in live out and a neutral and at the other switch there is live in and a neutral. this was original a 2 way circuit but the 2 way wiring is just tucked in the back box and not used. voice command is to 1 switch.0
