Natwest switch

Would a co-op cash minder be eligible to be switched into my Natwest current account to take advantage of their offer? Or would I have to use my Barclays current account then re-apply to open a Barclays account?

It's a current account right and co-op are part of the switch service - https://www.currentaccountswitch.co.uk/banksandbuildingsocieties/Pages/banks.aspx so I don't see why not.

Hope you have better luck than I.I went through the application, arranged switch from my TSB account and was given an account number. The next thing was ID verification by sending a selfie and copies of photo ID. Selfie was accepted, but I could not load the copy of my driving licence. I could not get in touch with Nat West at all.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
Did you do it via digidocs?0

I'd hazard against switching your Barclays account if you want to keep it - there is no guarantee that Barclays will accept you as a customer again down the line after you close your account. But as above, Co-Op are a part of CASS and their current accounts (even basic ones) are able to be switched to take advantage of switch incentives.0

I had a similar experience with NatWest - their digidocs system wouldn't accept one of my bits of ID. I ended up going into a branch to get it sorted. Very quick and painless.pollypenny said:Hope you have better luck than I.I went through the application, arranged switch from my TSB account and was given an account number. It's obvious digidocs is the source of many of NatWests problems
I started my application on 24th Feb. After a 10 minute wait for my call to be answered I spoke to them today. Apparently the proof of ID (scan of passport) I sent via digi-docs (their link/request) wasn't acceptable. I've had no notice of this. It was scanned on my printer & sent via PC. Instead, I've to take a photo of passport using my iPhone, then re-send it to them using their digi-docs link (which I've now to wait a further 24-48 hours for a new link). Apparently this is deemed "safer" than a scanned copy! (Alternatively I can take my passport into a local branch). I'm tempted to abandon NatWest & the application …..

I also had to try several times to finally get it to accept my driving licence. When it finally accepted that, I then had to repeat the process with the back of the driving licence! It then wanted a photo of my passport. As mine has recently expired, it (understandably) wouldn't accept it.There is no other option to upload any other documents with proof of address. So I too will be making a trip to my local Nat West branch tomorrow. Why can't all account openings be like Marcus, where I did the whole thing online in about 5 minutes?0

update: if you are going to branch ensure you take all your utilities etc with you, as they convert it to a "branch opening" from an online opening account - I wasn't told this. So I now have a reply from digidocs saying my application was unsuccessful - having already spent ages online chat after my unsuccessful visit to branch, and upgraded to a complaint; complaints dept say my original application is no more & I have to go through the whole process again as they are unable to send me a new digidocs link!! PLUS my unsuccessful application will appear on my credit rating !! BEWARE!!!!!1
