OS maps are good. They aren't definitive.nunu123 said:Hello again, thank you for taking the time to respond. I actually had a look at the ordinance survey map for our council (cadcorp), and it actually makes no mention of the land being a public path.
For that, you need to consult the council's definitive map...1 -
Useful site. Pity half the page is covered with a header.HampshireH said:

Remember hearing about one case. Someone seemingly bought plot with ROW through it. They built a house. Public were entitled to enter through front door walk through and exit through back door

I have checked other pathways that show up on the map as Public paths.
I am confused.Your council will have a definitive map. This is not an OS map although they may superimpose ROW over a OS map. OS maps state, "The representation on this map of any other road, track or path is no evidence of the existence of a right of way"OS maps mark paths and ROWs differently. https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/documents/25k-raster-legend.pdf

Adrian I'm getting a little fed up with the lack of tea that you and Mrs C are now offering as I walk past. Shape up man!AdrianC said:We have a PRoW (a footpath) through our garden. It comes in the back gate, past the back door, and down to the lane. It's unsurfaced, just grass. It's our legal responsibility to ensure it remains passable at all times.4 -
I have also noticed this and share your concern - am hoping that someone is pressing 'report' and then saying 'this poster is uber-helpful'.Moneybagsss said:
notrouble: (offtopic but) why are all your posts being reported as spam? Someone with a grudge? It's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
'Wonder' - to feel curious.3 -

Someone with a grudge?Sadly, whichever work experience teenager they left in charge on a Sunday has deemed fit to remove the post. It must have been truly offensive. Also off topic, I noticed one may now say '!!!!!!'* on the forum and that citizens of Scunthorpe are now as free as the rest of us to say where they hail from.*Apparently that's already been tweaked.
