British gas smart meter
Options
HI I changed my tariff with British gas 7 week ago to a better deal with them , the only thing is that my in home monitor is not updating to the new tariff , I have called number of times but have been told something different every time ( from turn it off and back on , turn off for two hours then turn back on next to meter )
I am been charged for the new tariff correct , but is annoying when your 'smart meter' is not giving you the correct information ...
Any advice or help would be great!

The data comes from BG so there's not much you can do until they sort it out. If they are getting the data from the meter to produce your bills then sorting out the IHD isn't really a priority.
You could make a formal complaint and see if that gives them a prod and then go to the ombudsman after eight weeks if it's not been sorted out. However I wouldn't hold my breath as I guess that it will be considered a trivial matter so no one will be all that interestedNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
thanks for the that ...yes it is a very small thing ...but its jut frustrating that the info on the screen is wrong and I am sure it could be updated faster
thanks for your comment..

These situations don't help the underlying belief that the energy industry is incompetent. Not only can they not handle customers moving supplier, they can't handle customers switching tariff! We're probably talking about a few bytes of data that BG need to change and it'll take exactly the same effort to change them in a few months time as it would now. This sort of update should be fully automatic with the customer unaware that any magic was going on behind the scenes to keep the IHD in sync with reality.2
