NICEIC certificate for a new full electrical installation

The house I intend to buy is 6 years old and the local authority searches have shown that there is an NICEIC record for a new full electrical installation.

Does this mean that the vendors should have any kind of certificate or document regarding the condition of this electrical installation?

Is there any way this could be obtained online by myself, or only the vendors could provide it?

Any help would be appreciated

Why do you need it? It will just show what you already know - that the house passed a full electrical check when it was signed off when it was first built.

    but they will charge you.
  • So 6 years ago when the house was built, the electrics were signed off as safe and up to the (then) current standards.
Wat exactly are you worried about?

Electric tests ate usually valid for 10 years so you have 4 years to go until it's recommended to get the electrics tested again. How many homeowners have a full electeical test every 10 years..... Not many!!
Electrics should be sound for 25 years + so it's really not a worry you need to have!
  • It's actually very useful to have the original design, installation and test certificate. It will have measured readings for all the circuits which can be checked against current values to identify deterioration or subsequent undocumented add-ons.

The vendors should provide it (if they still have it).

  • I’m not really worried about anything since it is a very new building and installation. I just was curious about it and thought it might be nice to have it. I have never seen one (I’m FTB) and I don’t know it might contain any interesting or useful information.

If you understand it, I'm sure it does.

It's utter gobbledegook to me 😶
