Thank you for the good wishes for our wedding anniversary.
RR thoughts and prayers are with you right now, I hope things go as you want them to. A very worrying time for you and your family.
Very wet here this morning as it was yesterday. Just before we were due to go out it came down in stair rods, lots of water on the roads. In two minds as to whether we should go for lunch, however we did and enjoyed it, Sainsbury do lovely fish and chips, the batter is so light....yum yum.
There were signs of flooding on the roads again as we travelled home, as its still raining I guess the village may be cut off, not that I am going out to see!!
We enjoyed cheese and tomato rolls around 5pm, so that was good.
No plans for today, I want to start another project on the machine, its another 2 hour one, apart from that nothing.
Supper tonight is all day breakfast, gammon eggs, tomato's and fried bread, need to sort out something for dessert.11 -

I did sleep but kept waking with all these thoughts crowding into my head which I suppose is normal. OH came home early from work yesterday with some flowers and we both sat and had a bit of a cry, its a long road ahead but hopefully we will get there. Still some thinking to do this weekend but we have till Tuesday.
Thanks again for all your support and love its very touching and does help xx17 -
Morning all. We've had 24 hours continuous heavy rain ! Roads are flooded, train lines are underwater and lots of people displaced...... and still it rains, sleets and snows
We are ok here, but our garden steps are like a mini waterfall because the water is running down off the mountain. The poor people further down the valley must be pulling their hair out.
On to today my plan is to hoover and dust downstairs, when I can drag Mr Fix It from the Xbox ! He's building a new world with DGS ( don't ask )Our new router has arrived and it hasn't got enough ports apparently, so it will be onto S*y again. Why does nothing go right these days. The smallest problem sends my blood pressure through the roof lately.RedRuby I hope you and your family managed to get a little sleep last night. Many hugs for you my friend.NLMC take care of your poorly back and I hope it mends soon.Happycas good news for your DH. Hope he doesn't have to wait too long for the surgery.Roblou well done on the YS chickens. I never find anythingILC I hope you win big today.Hester nice to see you back although I have been reading your blog.TA I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has trouble posting. I blame the gremlins in the machine .............or my brain not telling my my fat fingers which button to pressNelski I have trouble with using walking poles, I'm like spotty dog from the wooden tops...... very unco-ordinated !Take care all, hugs to those that need or want them.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Nelski, it sounds as if the physios there are really on the ball, at this rate you'll be skipping back to work.
Brian didn't hear about the job yesterday so they think it's been offered to the other candidate. Perhaps it has but it may also be that they ran out of time on a Friday afternoon so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.
Steve is going out to play golf with Chris because it's not that windy. I'll do a bit of sorting and sewing.12 -
Good morning folks - I've been out to the shops and tip already. I do enjoy getting up early and then crashing in the afternoon.SNOOZER - in my experience companies tend to call the successful candidate first to make sure that they accept the post and then call the remainder, though I hope that I'm wrong in Brian's case.TA - yes, that window is big, the one in the other room is even bigger! I took the curtains to the dry cleaners (£190.00 !!!!!!
) and then DM said that she was thinking of not having them put back up. I agree that the view and the window are both worth looking at, however the room gets very cold in autumn and winter despite the southern aspect.
DM wants a brunch before her crossword friend comes round. They have tea and cakes after Scrabble and during crosswords so I buy a selection which must include Morello cherry tart! The weather, so far, is fair, sun is out and rain has stopped, long may it last.NELSKI - keep going with those exercises, it'll all be worth it in the long run.Hugs to all the poorlies and the sad.Happy rest of Saturday.11 -

Afternoon all...been wayliad by gaming, breakfast [ very WW - back in the saddle despite various things coming up] and copious cups of builders tea have been consumed.I failed at a no spend day yestersay. Took OHs mam out to buy her her birthday present, then unfortunately looked at FB Marketplace and found an antique coat stand which was lovely, barley twist legs and a horsehoe shaped mirror [ needs some TLC which I will provide] and as I've always wanted one and it was a reasonable price, I bought it and fetched it last night. It's currently still in the car waiting for OH to help carry it in and me to put clothes on to make that possible....ahem...OK, I'm lazy....We are having Suday dinner out with OHs mam tomorrow, and out tonight with his friends but I am no going to be dirnking too much..Again, I don't want to take my barrel body into general circulation....The london trip got postponed till better weather seeing as they both caught the virus....I have four new books to read so I won't be bored sitting around for the rest of the day...The longer evenings are nice too and the sudden occasional sunshine is making me feel more get up and go-ey, or more positive....NRA, ring the NHS helpline if the painkillers don't work...Gers, how much?!! Blimey!! They'd better go back up for that price! Beautiful views though! Nelski, a day off for the wonder woman is fine. You can get in your invisible plane and go truth lassoo James
not sure what that would do though...Nanny, hoping the weather breaks a bit to clear skies or just cloudy skies for you. At the moment it all eems a bit armagedon with constant storms and viruses everywhere...TA, when you finish a post, next time copy before you send, then you won't lose it all
RR, have a weekend of pleasure if you can...Hey all reading along...Stormy Saturday!

Ruby.......so shattered for you, but keep thinking of the wonderful strides which have been made in combatting cancer. My prayers are with you and your family.
Storm Jorge is making himself felt here, we made a quick run to the village for supplies so dinner is now cooking in case electricity goes........pork steak, spuds and several vegetables (OH cooking).
Stay safe and warm

Afternoon all, I'm tired after a rubbish night, woken by the wind, then by DS and finally by needing a wee. Also had strange dreams.
RR thinking of you and of all those unwell.
I'm having a day off but must do paperwork tomorrow. Yesterday's work was ok though I was surprised when the family I went to see said they'd expected me to cancel in view of the downpours. I might cancel if really icy and slippy but not for rain. I got very wet though.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back8 -
Newroadahead, I found that carrying a bag on my shoulder gave me neck and shoulder pain, because I was permanently hunched to keep my bag on my shoulder - it wasn't till I saw a photo of myself from behind that I realised. I now carry a bag over my arm, and try not to have too much stuff in.
