This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning
Daft o'clock wake up today hopefully bodes well for a good sleep tonight
So 29th.....its a spare day
What amazing thing are you going to do on the spare day? I was considering proposing to James Martin but I think I might be too busy....theres the bins to empty and the washing to do so will have to see. Shopping arriving today so its meal plan day and my friend is round later.
Terrorist is killing me now....yesterday he brought round Nordic sticks and tried to convince me rambling was a super hobby!! Mmmm not yet convinced but it was a laugh me trying to coordinate walking with them no support though as the bottom was pea sized so the point was trying to get the swing of normal walking. He also brought a step round to relive a step class ....he is very ambitious for me lol. Anyway shattered last night so had my all day brekky then went to bed
Thinking lots about RR and family today. Really looking forward to the end point we planned matey where we take our broken but repaired bodies for a weekend treat
Its going to be a long journey but I know you of all people can crack this. Massive hugs xxx

Good morning and thanks for starting Nelski.Yes, a spare day, think though, if you got together with James he could take over the cooking, all those delicious meals!! There again though, if you put on weight you'd be waddling round the kitchen, not moonwalking or rambling - difficult decision to make. Let us know what you decide, proposing to James or emptying the bins !I don't think you have the terrorists at weekends so enjoy the break, and hope you do sleep better tonight.Thinking of RR and family, that's all we can do, send her positive thoughts. We are just doing the usual stuff this weekend, bit of shopping etc., we won't be seeing any of the family.Sorry to hear you hurt your back NMLC, so painful isn't it, hope you'll soon feel better.Hoping everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks11

Morning everyone
Nelski - thanks for starting us off, sounds like the terrorist is working you hard!
RR - sorry the news wasn't better, stay strong x
Horrible weather here, windy raining dreich!
DH watching catchup tv, I've had a bath (to ease the back pain) and I'm dressed and had my brekkie, mornings are the worst as everything seizes up over night so it's a slow start, but have taken meds and put the heated rub on, which gives some comfort. DS1 in his pit, won't see him til later as he was out to the small hours and I'm working this morning. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken, chips and beans for the menfolk, I had stir fry veg (fridge bottom veg) that needed using up and a packet of a bulgar wheat mix - it was delicious - another packet from the store cupboard used up. Not sure what we will be having later - I'll find something no doubt.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
It's still raining, no doubt there will be sleet too along with the 'fresh breeze' as the BBC weather website calls it!
I'm glad you haven't lost your sense of humour Nelski, those folk are certainly putting you through your paces.
Hope your back improves soon nmlc, take it easy.
Good work Gers, it'll be over soon!
Hope you managed some sleep RR.
I'm off to DS1s this morning to see him and the DGC, could be a tough drive (especially in a go-kart) but it'll be worth it to see them all. Calling at the charity shop on the way to drop off two big bags, one full of CDs, some I think were the childrens. Seeing as none of us has a CD player (apart from in the car) there's no point in keeping them. I've kept some for the car, will play them and see if they still do anything for me.
Hope you all have as good a weekend as you can, stay safe and dry and take care. XX11 -
Morning All,
Wet and a little windy at present weather wise, more blasts of wind due this afternoon.
Hope your back is getting a bit less painful. NMLC
My spare day is not very MSE as I am off to bingo - probably wont win a penny, we sometimes go to the afternoon session - we have free tickets to use and free drinks so not spending much it, I find more relaxing than going in the evening.
I have the electric clothes drying some clothes before we go.
Tea tonight is egg salad
Have a good Saturday

Morning everyone, wet and windy again. Thanks Nelski. Hope the bath soothes the pain NMLC and to RR all the very best on your road ahead.
Already dropped of OF this morning and called into Mr T Express got 2 yellow sticker chickens for £1.95 each. They are now cooking away ready to be shredded and put in the freezer for future meals. The carcass will simmer up for stock for my soups so feeling very MSE already today. More washing to do today, OH work clothes and towels so not very MSE because they will have to go in the dryer.
As the weather is pants it will probably be catch up tv today. We would be putting the new blind up up the delivery company decided to try to deliver to a different address, luckily there was no one there so they left a card apparently. The lady on the phone said the driver took a picture of the door with the number on it. White with and arch and coloured glass. Ours is green with 6 glass panels at the top. So obviously got the wrong postcode. It's rescheduled for Monday. We are round the neighbours tonight, every couple of months we have a card night, about 8 of us get together for games or cards, usually a pizza but tonight it's HM chilli with jacket tats or rice, we all cook or bring something so should be a good night. Kettle will be on the go as most of us don't drink so a cheap night in.
Have a good day all stay safe and hugs to all those that need it.x‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh12 -

Mrning folks and thanks NELSKI. This is my third attempt at posting! First disappeared into the great unknown and the second just refused to send. Don't know if to blame my lappie or the new site! As the latter gets blamed for everything else I assume it's that!!
I actually had a better night after my sleepless one. Why can't every night be like that!
GERS I have severe bay window envy! That's one handsome window. If I had a window like that I wouldn't be obscuring it with curtains! What a big upheaval it is just preparing for the work.
We just have light rain here and a light wind too so it appears JORGE has yet to arrive. I was going to pop in town but staying in holds more appeal! There is always the much postponed wardrobe prune to resume if I get bored!
REDRUBY I hope you managed to have a decent sleep last night. The quiet early hours are endless when the worries crowd in. So many good wishes on yesterday's thread for you. It was heartwarming to see,.I hope you got some comfort from so many people thinking of you. . ((HUGS)) aplenty for all others with illness, worries or sadness in their lives. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Nelski hugs to you, nmlc, RR and anyone else in need.
Yet more rain here, the water levels are up to the jetty and the ground is under an inch or so of water.
Steve is meeting one of his brothers today and I'm looking after the dgd's this evening.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning
And still it rains!
Thank you for all the good wishes for DH yesterday. All is well, and he's now on the waiting list for keyhole surgery. Probably be 3 to 4 months wait, but that's fine as he's ok at the moment.
Still thinking of you, Red Ruby, and sending every best wish your way.
Hope everyone is keeping warm and dry
Happy, not too wet, Saturday, I hope.11
