Messed up with a PPI

Hi All
right I finally did PPI last year and got 2 awards 1 from Santander and the other from another company. I won’t say which as it’s ongoing. Well I always send any letters like this back signed for. And did the same with these 2 Anyway I got the first check from Santandare at the start of Feb but in the later half of jan I got a letter from the other company saying they had not received my signed acceptance form. Anyway I rang them to tell them they had cos I’d sent it signed foR so you have got it. The guy I spoke said not to worry as it was just a standard letter and there are huge piles of them here. Also they are way behind on sorting and even then they have to send them to the payment office which is also behind so it could take upward of 3 months.. Anyway today I rang the company that I’m with to see if they had heard anything and he said no but don’t worry you should before the end of March.

Anyway I was sorting through my bits n bobs and thought it would look a better job if I printed the signed for proof. So I went on the Post Office site and found the relevant document page and it shows the date sent and time which was a couple of days into the new year but then it said !! More information will be posted when the item is delivered!!! And that is where the signature is when it’s been delivered Well I was dumb struck. Cos it’s for quite a lot of money well a lot where we are concerned that is. But maybe not to many others.
So I’m now in a state and had to GTN sprays already. Does anyone know what I can or should do or try to do. Shall I ring the post office or the bank involved or the company that’s sorted the PPI Out in the first place for me? Any suggestion would be of help at this moment in time. Cos I’m not sure the PO will stump up that amount. Anyway thank you in great anticipation
regards and many thanks Osh

Large companies do not often have to sign for their mail. Especially if its a PO box. So, the signed confirmation is often left blank. Its a waste of money using signed for with companies a lot of the time.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hi
on the on the same day I sent the Santander letter back in the same way and that was signed for no problem. So I think I ought to ring the bank to see if they have got it haven’t I. What happens if they have still not received it can I ask them for another form to sign ? And is there a time limit on the offer they make to you or?Regards Osh0 -
Just ring the bank and ask for another firm. But this time just send it back normally. Signed for takes it out the normal path and makes it more likely to astray.1

Or just write to them and say you have sent a signed for form, but as the bank appear to have lost it, please take this letter as confirmation you are accepting the redress. And no need to panic, you are still gaining 8% simple interest for each day they don't send a cheque.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

You mean mean the longer they take the more it costs them? And the only thing I was worried about. Was if there was any time limit. To it going. Over and not be able to get it after a certain time now they had given me a figure and a paper to sign.I. Might give. The bank. A call and ask them how the claim is progressing and that way they may say we are still waiting for your signed acceptance so then I can play daft n say well you. Should have it as it was sent signed for. So if you have not got it you had bettter send me another to sign and send back to you again. Don’t you think.
Does that sound like a plan? Regards Andy0 -
Almost.
Just ask them if they have it. If not, ask for another and this time promise to send it normally.

Not sure this is relevant but might be of interest. I received PPI payouts from a variety of banks (M&S, Lloyds, Santander etc) and obviously all sent a letter telling me how much they had decided to award me Not all needed something actually signing and returning though. I know Santander wanted it and maybe M&S but the latter was at the very start of PPI reclaiming years ago and I've forgotten what the procedure was. Lloyds definitely didn't ask for anything to be signed and returned they just asked for me to contact them if I DIDN'T accept the offer. They didn't give much time for contact either as when I checked my Lloyds bank account the PPI money had been deposited in my account just 2 days after I received the initial offer letter! So much for quibbling about the amount! This was for almost £30,000 so I assume they knew I wouldn't be complaining that the settlement was too low. LOL

This is a difficult question. I received paperwork from two banks stating there is a ppi claim and needed to provide a death certificate etc, It was for my late husband who had remarried just before he died so his new wife would inherit the money, so I didnt go to bank with cert. She has also died in Dec 19 so now the money should I think go to our children. Question is have I left it too late the PPI was confirmed as valid claim before deadline. anyone??

it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)1
