PCN from Horizon in Sainsburys

I have received a PCN in the post from Horizon. Apparently the car was parked in a Sainsbury's and exceeded the maximum stay period by 53 minutes. The car was parked in a non blue badge space as no blue badge spaces were available, but a blue badge was on display. I have no idea what the terms and conditions of parking with or without blue badges are, and the driver didn't see them when parking.
Any ideas if this can be challenged? All ideas welcome!

    Welcome!

You seem to have missed reading 'NEWBIES READ THESE FAQS FIRST' which tells everyone what to do.

    1.  Landowner/retailer complaint about not making a reasonable adjustment of time for disabled shoppers, and ask for your VRN to be added to the store 'WHITE LIST' of exempt vehicles so this never happens again.  It is illegal.  It is discrimination.  Complain to the store manager (not just Gladys or Demi on the CS Desk...) then the CEO of Sainsburys if the store are dismissive.

    2.  (Plan B only) appeal to the PPC, as per the NEWBIES thread (template appeal) attaching a copy of the Blue Badge and replacing the sentence about a PDT machine, with some words of your own, ranting about discrimination.

    DO NOT DO #2 FIRST.

  • Thank you very much. Went into the store and spoke to the manager. She has confirmed the ticket will be cancelled. Thanks again for your help.

Wow that was a quick result!

You posted and 8.49pm and I replied 2 mins later - and here you are having got it cancelled the same evening!  The only think to check is that it does get cancelled, by logging in on Horizon's website and pretending to 'pay' next week, and see if it shows as zero or 'cancelled' (don't worry you can safely look!).

Easy when you know how.  Always complain to the retailer/landowner management abut ALL private PCNs.
