Does Avro send out meter reading request?
Options
I'm a new Avro customer and I'm wondering when I should send them regular readings. Is there a set date for this, perhaps based on my tariff start date, or maybe they send an email asking for readings?
My initial tariff started on 18th Jan but then I renewed to a cheaper deal on 20th Feb. I logged-on and gave readings on both of those dates.

They do send out reminders, but to avoid confusing bills with estimated readings it's best to send the reading on the exact same day of the month that your switch took place, typically a couple of days after receiving the email.

If you log on to your account at the top of the "HUB" it will show in green "Your Meter Readings". Under this is the date that you should submit the meter readings by. If you do it on the actual date then your bill will use your readings. If you do it a few days before then the bill will use your readings plus estimated readings for the days until the date that they specify. My estimated readings have always been very accurate over the last four years. If you don't receive a readings reminder I would check that they have the right email address and then if ok contact Avro.
And there have been a few cases reported where the bills are not produced. Again if this happens to you don't leave it but chase them up.1 -
Thanks but that's not what I'm seeing. When I log in, on the left hand column it says Energy, then below that, Meter Readings, then Statements (greyed out) then Payments etc. Nowhere does it show a date, not even when I click on Meter Readings and click on either Electricity or Gas. I wonder why you see something different.0

JohnB47, my HUB is like I described every month. Maybe you should ask Avro when you can expect your first bill.1

Avro send me an email reminder three days before my meter reading is due, sometimes I see them in time and sometimes I don't, to be honest I just put a meter reading in about once a month and everthing has worked out just fine over the last three years.
I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:1 -
Well, I've just had an email reminder to send Avro my readings. I'd just logged on and done that successfully when a chap turns up at the door to read my gas meter 'on behalf of Avro'. Just gas, not electric (I'm dual fuel with Avro).
I haven't had anyone come to read my meters for years.

As above comments - I too had a meter reader call last year and just look at the gas meter, he said it was all they were asking for.
It was just about one week after I had sent readings in -maybe something they do as he had id and didn't enter property not too concerned.
I re contracted with them early this year and have been with them several years as price comparison is always good.
Always email to say meter reading due on and around the same monthly date, only time this alters is on renewing contract.1 -
