What's a reasonable time to wait for the letter to swear the oath for probate it seems to be taking a while and I'm hoping it won't hold up the house sale

do you still have to swear the oath? I thought they had stopped that and you just ticked a box on the application form

Swear the oath? Relative has very recently dealt with probate and this was not necessary.
Do you mean that you are waiting for the Grant?0 -
Allegedly, the MOJ got this down to 8 weeks just before Christmas. Although an article I read said it took 10 over the Summer.I can promise you it took much longer than that. My Grandad died in June, it took 18 weeks. The Government set them a target of 10 working days. Apparently, 92% of the applications missed that target.I'd set 6-8 weeks as a goal.1

It all changed last year though , and I don't believe there's now any requirement to swear an oath in person
