Currys & LG 1 in 10 chance to win half the value of your television back

We purchased an Lg TV on November 15th from currys in Bristol while they were running a 1 in 10 chance to win half the value of your TV back. At the same time we also purchased a sound bar for the LG TV and another Samsung television for our rental cottage. They offered to price match anything we had purchased if we found it cheaper from another retailer during the Black Friday event. We did find retailers selling the soundbar and Samsung TV at a slightly lower price and so phoned (as we live in Shropshire) the Bristol where we had purchased the items and spoke to the sales manager who had dealt with us in store. They requested we send them the details via email of the items at a lower price which we did and they refunded the difference back to our card. As this was carried out over the phone and via email they did not re-issue a new receipt reflecting the changes due to price matching.
To enter the LG TV competition you had to use the details given on your receipt 32 days after the purchase date. We tried this in the determined time frame with our original receipt but could not enter the competition. We contacted the Currys support team who said that because we had priced matched our items we should have been given a new receipt with which to enter the competition 32 days after the date our refund was given and that the refund would not affect our eligibility to enter the competition. However we have never received a new receipt with which to enter the competition even though we provided evidence via email of our purchase as requested after speaking to their support team several times. The competition is now closed and the support line gives no viable way of contacting them as this is also closed. We have had no further replies via email.
Are Currys in breach of contract as it was their responsibility to issue a new receipt and their mistake for failing to do so resulting in us not having a chance to enter the aforementioned competition which was advertised and attached to the sale of and a factor in us purchasing the TV?

The problem seems to have arisen because you phoned up to get the price match rather than going into a store, something that according to the price match T&Cs, you should have done.
If you bought in store: simply pop back into your local Currys PC World store. Don’t forget to bring your receipt with you.

Can I just ask but why buy in Bristol when you reside in Shropshire ?Should have bought closer to home especially when as above when you need to make use of the retailers offer of the price match promise.0
