I wouldn't travel anywhere at the moment, except to the British countryside. It isn't only because of any risk that might be involved at places you stay at, but also due to being on crowded planes and in airports containing large hordes of people.0

That’s true, and you might not pick it up in the country you’re in, only to go and pick it up from someone in the airport!Sapphire said:I wouldn't travel anywhere at the moment, except to the British countryside. Does anyone know what the situation in Thailand is? I’ve tried googling, and looked at several sites, but it is all a bit vague.
I know someone who is returning from there, and I need to know if I should avoid them for a while. (In a nice friendly way, I mean!)(I just lurve spiders!)

How would her boyfriend be pregnant?duncanthedog said:Probably better asking upstairs on the Travel board but if you are both fit and well and your boyfriend is not pregnant then just go for it as the virus will be everywhere by then anyway.

Thailand seems to be getting off very lightly so far.. Could be under reporting, but I think not.Pyxis said:

There is a theory that this virus follows cold and influenza.. So sunny places are getting a break ~ I think one more reported case today and only 14 still infected.

Thailand has a viral pneumonia problem at the moment
It looks highly likely that these viral pneumonia cases are in fact corona virus
Yes, tell your friend when she gets back that you have had to repair a leaky roof and the spare room won't be ready for two weeks if she asks to visit

Had a recent chat about Corona with my son who lives and works in Bangkok ( teacher )He's pretty sceptical about the "official" figures as Thailand is so dependant on tourism. Some schools have closed, but that has been in response to worried parents kicking off rather than being directed to by the authorities.1

If you are going travelling for 6 months then you are almost certain to pick up at least a few bugs on your travels even if you are ultra careful with your hygiene. It's a fact of life when mixing with different people, local germs and differing standards of cleanliness. So while Corona is a concern it shouldn't be the major thing to worry about.Mackenzietravel said:Hi, my and my boyfriend are planning to go travelling for 6 months in May we are worried about the corona virus we do have insurance but we have only put down deposite’s and are wondering whether to delay the trip
On the flip side there are many bargains to be had right now with airlines and hotels slashing prices due to the reduction in the number of travellers and normally crowded places aren't so busy so now could be a great time to see the world0
