sorry those are the wholes, this is 90 build
  • If its a sky cable, then that would connect to a skybox, not all houses have a cable from a roof aerial.
You need to look on the roof to see if there is an aerial and then find the cable from it.
  • That are satellite cable by the looks of it you will need a freesat box to use these as an equivalent to free-view.
  • Some TVs have a built in freesat tuner so you may be  able to connect directly to the back of your TV, otherwise as mentioned you will need a Freesat box to connect the cable to.

Alternatively, you could pick up a used Sky HD box for peanuts off ebay and use that - you don't actually need a subscription

so I have done that but still not working, I think I do need a card of some type.

If I buy a new freesatvbox, which one to go for. I am talking basics. Nothing fancy required,
    thank you

    Hi,
you don't need a viewing card.
Looks like you have a twin feed from the dish, if you only have one input on the Sky box, have you tried switching the cables.
Have you checked that tv is set to the correct input mode?
Did the previous occupier have SkyQ, seems it uses a different LNB to a basic Sky box.

If that's the case, a freesat box won't work either :(
