Complaint to the SRA time. Copy them all the correspondence. Report BWL's failure to follow PAP procedure - which as a legal firm they should well understand, but it has taken an unrepresented litigant in person, who has but scant legal knowledge, to fight this out with them, when they should know better - and you would like the SRA to thoroughly investigate and report back their findings to you!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

SRA = The Solicitors Regulation Authority

PAP = Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims

I'll leave you to work out what BWL stands for.

Keep that email chain as evidence as well, it will not go down well with a Judge!
