Insuring a holiday to florida in august that i have won

I hope someone can help as i have no idea where to start. I have won a holiday to florida in august this year. I will be going with my daughter, my friend and her daughter. With all the restrictions and virus warnings at the moment, we are looking for insurance not only to cover medical but is it possible to cover the cost of the holiday too if it was a prize? The value of the prize was £8000 but we are adding a few days. Would be greatful for any help anyone can give. Thank you so much.

Insurers would normally only refund the cost of the holiday as shown on an invoice that you paid, so the extras would be covered but I doubt the prize value itself. You would, of course, be fully protected for delays, health and medical expenses. You might want to check with a broker to see if there is a specialist insurer who would offer cover for a prize, they may exist but not from a policy bought through the main suppliers on line

I hope that part of the prize isn't the requirement to sit through half a day of a hard sell sales presentation.
  • no I won a holiday, no sales thing. just wanted to insure incase there is an outbreak of this virus or they dont let us in for some reason due to restrictions
