Hi yesterday morning about 0900am I applied for an Egg card, want to get it before my 0% runs out on my Virgin Card & as they all seem to be MBNA or RBOS ( except capital one, which I've only just got rid of ) have gone with EGG. The thing is I haven't heard anything yet & when I submitted the info it said 24hours, is this working hours?? or will they post it through. When I applied for RBOS the approval was almost instant.
Just worrying a bit now, though have never missed any payments or been late or anything.

They may have a backlog or just be really busy - possibly staff off ill etc.
You could try phoning them to check the application went through ok if this was done online. I would have though you'd receive at least an email. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
Never did get an email back from egg, to say if approved, tried emailing them no response, had tried logging in to eggs site using security details , didn't work originaly, tried again today & it worked, it says the application has been approved, which is great, but only £7500 limit & I needed enough to clear the Virgin card.
Don't know what to do nowI will obviously transfer what I can & I suppose use my overdraft for the rest & apply for yet another card once Virgin is closed. What a faff about.
Unless anyone has any suggestionsComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

don't wait for the letter, just log in and see if the screen has changed to "your card will be sent shortly".
Infact looking back I was never sent the letter, it must have been lost in the post.0 -

You won't have received a letter because one isn't sent. The applications are done online and almost always an instant decision is given.
The only thing Egg will send out in the post is the actual card, except where they need extra info such as proof of income/identity in which case they will send out a covering letter with an envelope for the person to send in the supporting documents.0 -
Don't they do instant decisions any more?0

This morning i applied for a Egg card. at the end, it shows they approved me & limit is £3,500. Then i got an email stating my card will be sent within 7-10 working days. And, when i try to login into egg site, it ask to activate the card.
So for my case, Egg given their decision straightway....0 -

No mine was referred and I would be contacted. I never was. Was given a 3.5k limit, half of what my Halifax limit was.0 -
when i applied for my egg money card, i got confirmation at the point of application, and then nothing, for weeks. then one day, the card arrived, with no welcome letter or anything, no detials how to log on the my account.... nothing.
in fact, i still never have had any further correspondence.
if i intended to use the bank as a full time account i would be deeply concerned about this, but as a mule card i am not bothered.
maybe your will just "turn up" as mine did0
