I'm hoping someone on here can help me. I made a claim for our future booked thomas cook holiday on 8th october on my phone ...I inadvertently put .co.uk instead of .com as my email address ..I heard nothing for 12 weeks and started calling the CAA i was informed that they were still dealing with the claim. I also informed them of the issue with my email address. In january i called again to be told the claim was closed and to email protect claims explaining the issue which i did ...i received an auto response telling me they would bw in touch within 28 days ..they didn't contact me ...after numerous phone calls i finally got to speak to someone who told me that the CAA had told them to close the claim as it was being dealt with by CEGA. They gave me the contact number for CEGA which turned out to be the CAA ...they said i couldn't be put through to CEGA without a CEGA claim number ,which i don't have! i explained the situation and was told to call protect claims to get my CEGA reference ..I called them back and they said they don't and wouldn't have one .I called CAA again and he just repeated that they couldn't put me through without a ref number ....i begged him to help me as i was stuck between a rock and a hard place ...he finally took my booking ref and phoned CEGA and came back and said that Cega have no reference of my claim. He advised me to email CAA head office which I did but i have heard nothing ..I tried to see if i could start the claim again but the site wont let me . I have contacted my bank who have said i need to claim through Atol but i,m Stuck ..I am at my wits end ...my dad gave me the money to pay for this holiday ...he turned 83 last week and i feel so guilty i just don't know where to turn

the CAA will accept claims up to 12 months after the failure of a travel company and are still getting claims on a daily basis. It looks as though your claim has never been processed at all, don't attempt to do it on a phone, The claim forms are still up on the website thomascook.caa.co.uk0

It always surprises me when people try to do important tasks like this, apply for passports, visas or book full holiday packages on their mobile phone. The error/user rate on such transactions always seems much higher. I wonder if these are the people that I seem to find walking down the middle of pavements each day at a slower pace than the crowds around them and with no idea what is happening in their immediate vicinity.0
