notice of disassociation

Hi,
I used to have joint mortgage with my ex but managed to remortgage in my own name recently.  I would like to remove my ex's name from my credit file.  Will it update itself in time to show I'm no longer associate with him or it's something I need to tell the credit reference agencies myself?  There's no dispute or anything (rejected application).  I just don't want to be linked with him anymore.
Please advise.

Many thanks.
San

  • You need to file a notice of disassociation with each CRA.
  • You can only be dissociated if you no longer have any joint credit products with this person. Assuming this is the case, it should filter through automatically, but I'd raise a dispute with all 3 CRAs to file for dissociation and speed things up.
