I applied for a mortgage just over 2 months ago, I waited till that mortgage was all approved and credit checks done before I then applied for a credit card to manage daily spending and fully pay it off each month.

Will a preapproved credit card affect my rating?

But that house sale then fell through and I had to apply for a new mortgage on a higher sale house. Which would have been a third credit check in less than a month! Noting my dad offered to provide the addionial funds for the higher deposit
I signed up to the Clearscore app to check my score, and it has offers for "pre-approved" 0% purchase credit cards. I'm tempted to apply for one because that would let me cover costs for things that I need for the new house, and free up more cash towards the house deposit to reduce the amount I borrow from my dad.
Does pre-approved mean they won't do a hard credit check on my file if I apply?? Would I be safe to apply for this, or how long should I wait before applying?

Even though the card is 'pre-approved', this is subject to final checks. These checks will include a hard (credit application) search.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Mortgage applications are usually assessed individually so whilst it is good advice to wait, I doubt an extra search will make that much difference.0

Remember your score isn't seen by lenders, your history is whats important.
