Equixfax registration

Upon advice I received yesterday to check my credit report with all three credit reference agencies . I already had Credit Karma (Trans Union?) and easily joined Credit Club through MSE. I have tried joining Equifax filling in boxes as required but it asked for telephone verification. I spoke to the guy (sounded like the states) and he's asked me to send of a copy of my National Identity card. I explained, we don't have them in the UK. He asked for a copy of my birth certificate (over 65 years old!). I'm not prepared to send copies of anything to them!. It was easy with Credit Karma and Experian. Has anybody had problems? We live on a boat and have had numerous addresses so maybe this is the problem. Never had any problems with opening bank accounts either. Anyway, my credit rating with Experian was perfect as it now is with Trans Union. I guess my Default (previous post) is with Equifax only and was hoping to check but I have now been put off.

  • Equifax have a USA site (for US citizens) and a UK version.  Are you sure you are trying to get your report from the UK site?
You can also see your Equifax credit report (although 1 month behind) from ClearScore  :)

Yes, I'm sure it was UK. Thy asked for post codes. That's good advice about ClearScore. I will try them
