Boost energy help switching!

Options
Hi 2 years ago I got a salesman knocking at the door for Boost energy and asking me to switch and they can save me and my family money. Now what I've come to find out is that is an very expensive PAYG (top-up) provider. I have a 3 bedroom house and I'm constantly having to top up everyday and its really taking it out of our other budgets e.g food. For example my costs now are £250 a month for both gas and electric. When you view the breakdown they are saying is split down the middle £125 on electric and £125 on Gas.

Now everybody I have spoken to have advised I'm being charged too much as they are only spending for example £70 - £90 a month and I've looked at comparison sites but they come back and say I can only save £20 a year.

Could anybody spare some light on how to get this changed over to a cheaper option for us as its getting even more expensive!

These are my current unit rates

Electricity standing charge:
27.10p/day

Electricity unit charge:
17.64p/kWh

Gas standing charge:
35.75p/day

Gas unit charge:
3.55p/kWh

You need to switch to a credit meter and credit tariff.

Unless "everybody you speak to" has the same heating, same lifestyle, is on the same tariff from the same supplier you cannot compare cost.

Do you know what your actual electricity and gas consumption is (in kwh not £) ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Take Gerry1's advice immediately! You're being robbed. I'm on credit meters with Gulf for gas 2.37p/kWh and Symbio for electricity 11.45p/kWh. Standing charges about half yours. 5 bed house, heading for £1k gas and £600 electricity for the year.

NEVER buy energy without comparing charges to your existing suppliers' prices.

Make sure you're not using electricity for heating or hot water.  No instantaneous electric showers, no immersion heater, no fan heater.
