Do you get any spam mail to your home from competitions?

Options
Hi fellow compers!

I like to enter competitions where you just need (e.g.) a name and an email to enter, but I'm reluctant to use my actual address for competitions, for fear of receiving lots of spam mail.

I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has started receiving spam from competitions, or if I'm just being paranoid about it.

Also, it would be nice to hear if it's completely fine, so my mind can be put at rest 👍

Thanks!

I've not had any yet, though I've only started seriously comping since December.
I think it is worth putting your address in though as sometimes prizes just show up, they don't always let you know you have won by email.

I get a couple of catalogues from time to time, where I have obviously forgotten to tick a box, but it is very infrequent.

Most of the spam I get is to an old email address I've never used for comping.

I generally don't enter competitions that need a postal address unless I am happy with the site involved and the prize on offer

I misread your post, I meant email spam. I've had lots of prizes turn up out of the blue without any phone or email notification, the odd catalogue comes through the door, nothing much.

To be fair if you've entered a competition then what you call spam is part and parcel of that. You get nothing for nothing in this game and nor should you.

would prefer postal spam to email or phone calls, Postal junk gets name and address taken off then binned, end of.

I'm not bothered by the odd catalogue or mailing, but I do love getting an unexpected delivery from the postman.
    Agree with this
