No appologies necessary dear chap!! I find it all brilliant and am loving the fact that i can laugh at all this when a couple of weeks ago i felt so serious about it all!! Well, serious enuf to not sleep properly!
At LEAST £150 off the value i would say! Am quite tempted to take a hammer out with me when he comes to value the car and keep smashing lights etc until the price comes down...but then that would only be stupid if my hubby didn't work on cars for a living!
will let you know what happens this avo!0 -

Thanks Ian!! Hoping i have a nice chap come and look at the car...and now also hoping he won't be turning up with a debt recovery vehicle!! Mind you, would give the neighbours something to chat about!!
AND, if he wakes up my lo when he is here, that will be another £150 squid off the price as i will have to go to counceling!!:rotfl:0 -
I am sad to report they reckon hubby will have to pay a grand for the car...
Not only did my sales pitch fail me, but also my blonde bimbo approach...it was only when i bought my poorly child out that they knocked the price down from 2k to 1k!!!! (must point out that such poorly child put on his best acting skills and was not poorly, but had just woken up!).
Have to say though, the man was really kind and when i asked if it would help for me to smash a couple of head lights he said it wouldn't make any difference...
Bad news is, we only have a week to get the money to them! Sucks but hey, i get to buy my car back!!:j0 -
Oh Meech, thats a bit of a bummer.
I was going to suggest you try leaving the car lights on all night so it was dead when they tried to start it, could have told them it died on you the other day and you think its had it, total value £35 scrap, never mind
Good luck with finding the cash. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

Ah BLTN, if only you could have told me about leaving the lights on earlier!!
Nevermind, onwards and upwards i say!0 -
Hi meech,
At least you tried. Next step is to agree to the sale and take ages to pay them; don't let the !!!!!!s have an easy ride.:D
We were allowed to keep two vehicles and they never bothered having them valued; there's not much consistency across different offices.
I do think that they've got tougher over the last few months from what other people's experiences have been.

Thats a shame, well done for trying though, as has already been said just try and bargain with them a bit more.
Best of luck

Thanks guys, i shall keep on at them and see what they say!! Hubby (bless him) has agreed to pay the grand for the car....which is fab BUT, a grand could have got me a REALLY big BR diamond ring for xmas!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Tee hee, aren't i the greedy one!!
Shall let you know how my negotiating goes but to be honest, the man was quite firm when he said 1k after dropping it from 2k!! :rolleyes:0 -
Well the car is worth £1000. So if the OR was to have it they would have to pay some one to collect it, what £70? Then pay to store it, £150? Then pay the auctioneer to auction it, £100? Not sure on those figures, perhaps someone knows some more exact figures. So it would cost the OR £320? to sell it. So offer £750 for it telling the OR your reasons.
What do the rest of you think would that work? Or is it worth a try?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
