Hi there, Im looking to move into a new property, I will be a lodger with a lodger agreement, will I be able to claim my rent while I'm on universal credit, because the landlord lives at the property as well?

I believe thats possible as long as you are not closely related to your landlord.1

Yes, lodgers can claim the housing element of Universal Credit as long as you have a commercial agreement with your landlord and he/she is not a close relative.
Just a heads up.
They will need to see the lodger's agreement and will want to know the actual rent being paid. If your 'rent' includes council tax, utilities then they usually will want these separated from the sum you pay to the landlord as they will only pay the rent.
