Premium Bonds Holders Numbers

Can anyone help please? I have a £2 premium bond bought in 1958. I’ve not had any winnings and moved many times in the intervening years without letting the NS&I know. So I contacted them recently to notify them of my new address but they were unable to help as I do not have a Holders Number. I wrote again to give them more details, eg where I lived from 1959 til 1975, but they say they are unable to trace any holdings in my name.
Any ideas what I can do to solve this?

Plan A - Have you got the paper bond? That will have the bond number on it and NS & I should show it as registered to somebody.
Plan B - They should certainly be able to tell you if there are any unclaimed prizes against the bond number.
Plan C - Write off the £2

If it;s any consolation, the chances of you having any winnings with a single £2 bond are pretty low
