Inventory section bank account detail in form C1 (Scotland)

Hello everyone,
I've read some of the threads here and they've been massively useful so, first of all, many thanks.

I submitted a form C1 for confirmation but had it returned today with 2 silly errors on page 1 (an extra comma on the deceased address line and a spelling error in the Occupation field) and some penned crosses on the inventory page.

Each item crossed out on the Inventory page has been for an account with a bank (same bank each time). What I put in the Description column for each item is something like
Bank Name Plc (Sort 00-00-00)
Classic Current Account 12345678
Balance at date of death including interest
What am I missing/got wrong? I've found the Notes that go with form C1 useful in places but really sparse in detail where it's most needed. that go with form C1 useful in places but really sparse in detail where it's most needed.

I'm sorry that no-one has been back with info - there used to be a very helpful member here who regularly helped out with confirmation questions. I suspect the forum update may have been a problem for him or he's just left!
Have a look at the long'ish thread here already about confirmation, the answer may be there. I can't help though I'd like to.

Could it be that you have that particular bank listed under the wrong country? ie under wrong heading "Moveable estate in Scotland" or "Estate in England and Wales".
Which bank is it and what heading was it under?
  • Hi,

Many thanks for answering. The bank is Bank of Scotland. It's listed under
    Estate in Scotland, -
    Moveable estate, -
The only estate is in Scotland (and there is no house to deal with either). I wondered if it was just the plain wording I was using

Do you also need to give the address of the bank?

Shouldn't be necessary but as I've mentioned before there is no doubt that individual courts, and quite possibly clerks, have their own foibles which are impossible to second guess.
PM me with your email address and I will send you copies of successful forms. You can then compare the exact wording and format with yours.

Hold on - Royal Bank of Scotland is HQ'd in Scotland but I think you'll find that Bank of Scotland is England.

The parent is Lloyds Banking Group but the HQ is in Edinburgh.

My brief googling may have been misleading, you may well be right.

That was my reading too, initially. HQ in Edinburgh though.
