Mastercard have informed me that they will no longer support this card and I must cash in my balance before April or lose it. Looking at the rate they are offering today which is .48 and internet says .51 am I being held to ransom with a rubbish deal and what can I do if that's the case. I have around £1000 on there so we're talking £50 / £60

The internet is a big place...where the rates you are seeing? Rates change all the t8me and you will always get a rate worse than the mid market rate, and Thomas cook was never the best deal so not sure why a less than perfect rate has become a concern to you now. £940 is a lot more than zero so better to cash it in than sit complaining.Save £12k in 2019 #360

Nothing, it was issued by a company that has gone out of business so there's no one to complain to.
0.03 difference isn't worth worrying about, if the £50 difference is worth so much then stay in for an evening when you'd go to the pub etc to recoup the £50.
There's much bigger things worth worrying about than this, especially when you haven't actually lost any money.

Any such card was a rubbish deal from the start, you would have done no worse just using your regular bank card.
Perhaps the pound is weaker now than when you bought the currency on your card and you'll actually get more back, by chance..?Evolution, not revolution0
