  • My house needs decorating things like that. I would never spend to get back on them, I will keep receipts aswell. Also pay my insurance off sensible things. It will be going on the car house and kids for them and also food shopping other needed things x

Thankyou it is just going on bills and debt I owe and also a family car and a family holiday to America as they want to go and I think I would never beable to afford it. So is child tax credits ok and my carers and cb
Yes, Carers Allowance, CB and child tax credits will continue.
I agree with KarinaWaves that you will probably have to apply for Universal Credit and Council Tax Reduction rather than Income Support/Housing Benefit/CTR when you get below the savings threshold.
I think a family car would not come under deprivation of capital but do think carefully about being able to afford this when back on benefits - insurance/petrol/MOT/Repairs
A family holiday to America may be regarded as a little 'over the top'. If it's Disneyland they are interested in then perhaps France might be cheaper and just as good?
Decorating is fine.  Debts are fine under Universal Credit. Everything has to be reasonable.

The savings limit for income support/housing benefit is £16000.  Once you are below this you can apply again for Income Support and HB.

Will a new claim to Income Support be possible.  I thought all new claims would now be for UC, or has the UC rollout delay changed that.
