Wheres is the Default notice?

Hi. Up until very recently I had a default notice on my credit report (Credit Karma). This was from a bank account I have with a previous partner I never knew existed until 2017. Since we parted in 2015 we have settled through her solicitor, paying my share of the house and closing our joint account (or so I thought). When I found out about this account, it had a £4k overdraft run up since we parted in 2015. I went and saw the bank who were very helpful and froze the account and I have heard nothing since.
Anyway, that's the background until recently when I received a letter from the bank and Lowell Portfolio to say he debt has been sold. But, I checked my credit file this morning (Credit Karma) and the bank debt is gone and my credit rating has gone from Needs Attention to Excellent. I cannot see any Default notice on my report (but I do understand this is attached to the account). Do I still have the Default notice as I understood they remained for 6 years? Maybe she has paid the debt? How can I check this as its not on my credit report?

It will probably reappear under the new creditor's name. Remember to check all three files, not just one.

I guessed so. I'm not worried. I won't bother to register with another credit agency. By the way, love the name. I had a ZX81 back in 1981! My first computerDeleted_User said:It will probably reappear under the new creditor's name. Remember to check all three files, not just one.0 -

Hi. I have managed to register with all three agencies now. All are showing an excellent credit rating so the debt by my ex ran up must have been paid off. I can no longer see any default notices on all Credit reference agencies. If the debt was sold to Lowell, would the default notice go with it? As I said, all three agencies show an excellent credit rating. Thanks in advance.Deleted_User said:It will probably reappear under the new creditor's name. The original creditor should remove their default and Lowell will register their own.
Remember that your ratings don't reflect whether you have defaults or not, so make sure you specifically look for them.0 -
Maybe she paid it off as soon as she received the letter from Lowell? That might explain it Thanks for the helpDeleted_User said:The original creditor should remove their default and Lowell will register their own.

Possibly. But that wouldn't cause the default to be removed.0

I've checked all three for closed accounts and nothing shows. I will check next month to see if Lowell have entered it.Deleted_User said:Possibly. But that wouldn't cause the default to be removed.0
