Locking folders

I hope this makes sense, so here goes...
At the school in which I work, all the children's work is saved on a shared HDD (we can't afford a proper server yet!) Each class has its own folder in which they save their work. The problem is that these folders keep "accidently" being moved around by some of the children!
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any software or tricks that would allow the children to access the folders but not move or delete them.
Many thanks!

I think the easiest way may be to give each class their own log on under XP, then use My Documents to store their work. That way the teacher would log the class on and the only documents they could access would be their own.
If you do this make sure you don't make any class log ons the administrator account.0 -
Thanks for this suggestion. The only problem is that all the work is saved onto a central hard drive, so that the children and staff can access it anywhere in the school. I'm assuming the children would still be able to move folders around on a limited account, or is this not the case?0

Any more suggestions please?!?0

Folders can still be moved/deleted with a limited account, unless the account permissions are set to deny this.
You need to deny permission to 'Delete' and 'Delete Subfolders and Files' and possibly 'Create Folders / Write Data' to the username for the class or the Windows group to which the class belongs. You could set these permissions at the network drive level, e.g. D$, or on a folder lower down in the hierarchy. To access these permissions, right-click the folder - Properties - Security tab - Advanced button. http://www.le.ac.uk/cc/dsss/docs/acls1.shtml has some screenshots.0
