Feedback on NEWBIES THREAD

Hi, second time reading this section of the forum, first time posting. Just a bit of feedback from myself on the Newbies guide that might help with the amount of noise you get from people re-asking the same questions.
- The main thing is formatting and hierarchy. There is a lot of use of different colours, fonts, styles and capitalisation all trying to jump out and grab my attention, so much so that the first time I tried to read it I completely lost my place I was in the instructions several times and eventually gave up. You could consider playing with the built in text styles to build up hierarchy of the advice to make it easier for a reader to skip to the sections that are relevant to them. (I would be happy to help with this).
- Second, smaller piece of feedback - I'm not sure was PDT stands for (I searched for it in the forum but just found someone else asking the same Q with a grumpy reply that they were making too many threads). Perhaps it could be added to the acronym section?

OK, I will add PDT to the acronym list. The only reason I didn't is that I thought 'PDT machine' was obvious in the context of a car park.
The NEWBIES thread is what it is, and is not a set of instructions and none of the sections are to be skipped.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the reply! Are you sure on this point?Coupon-mad said:The NEWBIES thread is what it is, and is not a set of instructions and none of the sections are to be skipped.
e.g. "Appealing a private PCN" and "IPC members are different:" seem to refer to PCNs on windows, whereas "Postal PCN from a BPA or IPC member" was actually the advise I needed so I skipped the first two bits.
"2. ONLY after exhausting the complaints option, then as Plan B, the keeper appeals." also uses a less obvious or eye catching font meaning I lose where I am (and to the above headings end up looking like part of (1).
Sorry if it sounds like I'm lecturing - I just worry about this stuff as part of my day job so it's always on my mind haha.
It's obviously up to you but I would be happy to help review the formatting

The NEWBIE thread has been built up over several years and has had to be edited/updated as things change. Coupon-mad is in the process of a complete revamp of it. Meantime a read with a cup of tea and a plate of biscuits will make it all sink in and then you can skip to bits you need.2
