Can I replace kitchen window with french doors

The back kitchen window of our house is 1.4m wide, we are planning a reshuffle of the layout and was wondering if we could replace the window with french doors (the same width) without any kind of structural work? would the existing support that currently supports the window opening, be strong enough to support the door opening?
Hope that makes sense

Probably, but you can't assume and will need a competent builder to advise (and maybe a structural engineer).
Knocking out the wall below the window to make a new door will need Building Regs approval from the council anyway.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
As long as the support that was in there in the first place is adequate then it's fine.Building Control is for the strength and toughness and u-value of the window glass. I don't think that they're much interested beyond that.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
